Les bienfaits du tallow pour la peau

The benefits of tallow for the skin

A forgotten secret to rediscover

Used for generations in many traditional cultures, tallow (or nourishing suet) is now making a comeback. Long forgotten, often misunderstood, it is nevertheless one of the most powerful and skin-compatible ingredients.

At Biovida, we work with it slowly, respectfully and with high standards.

What is tallow?

Origin and composition

Tallow, or beef or lamb suet, is a fat obtained from the slow rendering of animal fat, traditionally used in skin care for centuries, particularly in Morocco, but also in Northern Europe and in Native American cultures.

What makes it unique? Its biological composition is extremely similar to human sebum, making it an ultra-absorbable, non-comedogenic and deeply restorative substance.

It naturally contains:

  • saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids (palmitic, oleic, stearic acids)
  • fat-soluble vitamins: A, D, E and K
  • natural antioxidants

✧ A microbiome ally

Unlike many conventional creams containing water, preservatives and emulsifiers, tallow respects the skin's microbiome. It does not unbalance the hydrolipidic barrier, does not dry out, and does not "force" the skin.

It is a naturally occlusive treatment, which deeply nourishes without suffocating.

Its popularity is currently exploding in the United States and Canada within clean beauty circles, but it is in Morocco that this know-how has always existed, passed down in the countryside, within families, as a secret among initiates.

Today, Biovida is bringing it back into the spotlight, in a pure, whipped and refined version, in line with the needs of contemporary skin.

✧ Who is tallow for?

Tallow is a universal treatment, but it is particularly beneficial for:

  • Dry skin or skin lacking nourishment
  • Sensitive skin or skin prone to eczema
  • Mature skin, seeking suppleness and protection
  • The skin of pregnant women (sensitive areas, stretch mark prevention)

It can be applied to the face, body, lips, and fragile areas.

One product, multiple uses. This is the very essence of minimalist skincare.

Our Biovida whipped tallow

Texture, manufacturing, purity

At Biovida, we transform tallow using an artisanal, slow, and respectful method. The suet is first melted at low temperature, filtered extensively and repeatedly, then whipped by hand to obtain a soft, airy, and creamy texture.

Imagine a whipped cream without water, without perfume, without preservatives.
Just a pure, living, nourishing substance.
A subtle, comforting, naturally present scent.
An enveloping sensation that leaves the skin supple, smooth, and deeply soothed.

Local sourcing and artisanal ethics

Our tallow comes from local farms, chosen for their respectful practices, with a view to comprehensive and sustainable value creation. This is invaluable "grass-fed Tallow".
We believe in human-scale production, where each batch is carefully processed, respecting the raw material and nature. No industrialization, no compromises.

Each jar is unique. Each treatment is a connection.

-

Tallow is not a step backward. It's a return to what's real.

At Biovida, it embodies this desire to create simple, profound, essential skincare.
Skincare that doesn't mask. That doesn't attack. That repairs, nourishes, and connects.

Tallow is more than an ingredient: it’s a heritage. A rediscovered skincare ritual.
